Ohio-based Workhorse Group claims its new NGEN-1000 electric delivery van costs the same as a conventional diesel van and can haul a similar amount of cargo. A lower curb weight makes this possible. The NGEN-1000 is the first Workhorse vehicle to be built at a new Midwest factory. ✔ That’s about the same as a medium-sized passenger car, and Workhorse claims it’s less than half the weight of a traditional diesel step van ✔ The W-15 is expected to enter production in 2019, while Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification of the SureFly is expected to take at least two years ✔ In May 2018, the company also began a drone-delivery pilot program in Ohio
